white orchid in coconut shell

I love Orchids ,This one I replanted in a dry coconut shell .
You cant find much shadow in thia painting because of overcast weather at the time of painting and orchid is in shade. I particulary enjoyed painting the shell and roots area.
This is done on Canvas by acrylic colors ,24" x 18"

Indian policemen on horses

I dont consider this painting as finished yet .But still want to share.

Twilight sky is wonderfull .

These guys are from my hometown Hardwar, one of the most sacred city in Hinduism .
Horses are best way to pass narrow busy lanes in ancient city of Hardwar.
Every year millions hindus come to Hardwar to bathe in Holy river Ganga (Ganges ).

There will be paintings to follow of devotees and Ma Ganga (mother Ganges ).
Oil on Canvas -24"x 24"

Yellow flower with lemon and grapes

the cool shades of backround and grapes are balanced with yellow of lemon and flower.

Oil on canvas -16"x 20"

deep in thaughts

This was an interesting experiment, mostly done in transparent colours ,almost monochrome ,this painting /drawing catches solemn mood of the young lady.

I enjoyed doing vertical brushstrokes .

Country road to mustard fields

This is on the spot painting on a winter afternoon ,this road leads to cluster of villages in North indian District of Haridwar .

Both sides of the road are greened and yellowed with crops of wheat ,sugarcane and mustard.

I tried to capture the mood of relaxed ,warm sunlit winter afternoon.

Wheat and musturd fields.

I took some pics for reference for this painting on one of my trips to India .
but the painting comes out to be very different from the pics ,i added on Moving clouds foreground tree during painting process .
The yellow of the fields and fast moving clouds fascinates me .one can actually feel the movement of clouds and breeze by looking at them .
i did it last year with acrylic on convas.
its 24"x36"

Drying Laundry (HDB flats Singapore )

This everyday sight always inspire me to paint it.
I particularly liked different colored clothes moving in morning breeze.
The whole painting has got morning freshness and clothes create sense of movement in it .
